I’m really looking forward to reading Car-Free Outdoors! I’ve been craving more nature and thinking about hiking a lot recently.

Bravo! This looks wonderful. Can’t wait to follow along, especially because we’ve been looking for exactly this kind of activity lately.

This looks great. I just moved here a couple months ago, so finding a car free outdoors is something I’d love to have some tips on! Thanks for starting the project!

You might find some pretty interesting stuff on the Peninsula too– Samtrans has some bus lines that connect Colma BART with Skyline College, which should let you check out some trails shown here http://www.nps.gov/goga/planyourvisit/upload/sb-sweeney-2008.pdf

Yes, I will be covering the Peninsula, and Sweeney Ridge will be one of the first Peninsula hikes featured here! It’s a really great spot. Some of the Peninsula parks are a challenge to get to on transit, but thanks to the community colleges in the hills there are some transit options. Some of the nicest bird/wildlife spots along the Bay Trail are on the Peninsula as well, so expect to see those here as well.
